A Single Source Volume Integral Equation for the Inhomogeneous Maxwell Scattering Problem


Abstract:

In this paper we introduce a new volume integral equation method to compute the electromagnetic scattering of inhomogeneous medium. The medium can be inhomogeneous both in ϵ and μ. The integral equation is of the second kind. The electric and magnetic fields are obtained solving two decoupled volume integral equations (each one single source). The drawback of the method is that it requires E(x) and μ(x) to be smooth functions. Numerical examples are shown by using the windowed Green's function method [1]
