Probabilistic load flow analysis for large scale radial distribution systems

Abstract:

This paper presents a probabilistic load-flow solution for large scale radial distribution systems. The radial distribution probabilistic load flow (PLF) software tool is developed using Monte Carlo technique. Using this software tool, the power flows at the various sections of distribution feeders and voltage profiles at all nodes of a network can be pbkp_redicted. It is assumed that the uncertainties of bus loads and generation can be estimated or measured. Monte Carlo technique gives high accurate results with high computational cost. Hence, the forward/backward sweep approach is used as a deterministic load flow solution to reduce the overall algorithm time required. The algorithm is adopted for standard radial balanced IEEE 33-node and 69-node feeder and performed by using M-file in MATLAB software.
