A Software Based on Eye Gazed to Evaluate Vowels in Children with Cerebral Palsy in Inclusive Education


Abstract:

Inclusive education have been promoted in public and private education centers in Ecuador. It's well known that teachers make his best effort to integrate students with disabilities in real classroom, but the vast majority don't count with assistive technology that guarantee a real communication with students with cerebral palsy. The evaluation process in children with cerebral palsy and speech difficulties, it's complicated because the teacher don't have a real feedback about the teaching process. In this paper, through the use of eye gazed technology, we present an educational software to be used in the pre-reading process to know the advanced of the students in the recognition of the vowels; children with cerebral palsy from 5 to 7 years old test the program and the result are presented here.
