Análisis del comportamiento de losas de sobreanchos en carreteras de pavimento rígido construidas con pavimentadora con encofrado deslizante


Abstract:

The construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation of rigid pavement roads can be performedby several alternatives, each with their respective advantages and limitations. The alternative that produces higher yield is the construction with slip-form paver, however, this machine can't modify its width to build widenings on bends, consequently this area must be constructed as a different element of the road. This constructive process hasn't a guide or a technical specification, so, this job has been executed by intuition of the road construction specialists and due to this the widenings have been constructed by several ways without knowing which of them is the best or the less harmful. The present investigation pretends to be a guide that explains the advantages and disadvantages of the different construction processes of widening, making analytic and computational analyses of the behaviour of this section submitted to traffic loads that is supposed to resist and provide the necessary information required for an specialist to design, control and construct more e_cient roads and guarantee the life time for which they were designed. This study will define that as the rigid pavement sections decrease, the response of the subgrade does as well, causing the life time of a road decreases considerably. Similarly, while a part of the road is constructed in this case the widening with less resistance, this will also influence negatively on the behavior of the road, showing that the construction processes used to date in our country have major deficiencies.
