Producto audiovisual sobre el ritual de la fiesta de la virgen del Carmen en la parroquia de Otón

Abstract:

This project was born with the need to show the manifestations, the ritual that includes in the celebrations of the virgin of the Carmen, so much in its religiosity, culture, identity, counted from its more long-lived actors of the parish, several of them no longer live there several ago, but they were an important part of the recovery of memory through a visual narrative. A previous study was made on the formation of one of the first parishes of the province of Pichincha, its history, the arrival of the image of the Virgin of Carmen and how it gives a very important turn in the festive beliefs and celebrations in Otón, since from the moment of the arrival of the image of the virgin they take her as patroness and celebrate their feast on July 16 of each year. In the festive program that is held once a year, it can be evidenced that there have been important changes and the unfolding of the festivities. In addition, as over the years there is a union of the inhabitants of the populated center, indigenous people and those of the "colony", this is evidenced in the interviews carried out with the inhabitants of Otón. When finishing this investigation from its main actors, who wants to show an audiovisual product where the memory and identity of Otón's parish is reconstructed and like this although it has been influenced through history by an inheritance and cultural appropriation it does not lose its indigenous ritual
