Profile and visitors preferences in destinations with gastronomic potential: case'The Huecas' in Guayaquil [Ecuador].

Abstract:

The city of Guayaquil is located in Ecuador country, South America. The restaurants called as The Huecas [Las Huecas] are establishments that sell Ecuadorian typical food, very visited by national and international tourists. The present empirical work is based on univariate and bivariate survey analysis to study the visitors profile in relation to these food and beverage establishments, with their gastronomic preferences. The research was carried out in situ, to later show results, which give evidences that Las Huecas are attended by men and women, mostly between 20 and 39 years old, with varied professions, who prefers to go on weekends, in the morning or at night and among its gastronomic preferences are mainly'Encebollado','Ceviches' and'Arroz con Menestra'.
