Proportional Fuzzy Control of the Height of a Lubricant Mixture

Abstract:

Different components mix to get the required viscosities and lubrication qualities in the manufacturing processes of lubricating oils. This paper shows a proportional fuzzy controlled model for control of the height of this mixture, inside a stirred tank with heating, through the flow of two components: the base and the additive, depending on the variation in the opening of the valves and their corresponding inputs and outputs in the system. Three alternatives are studied: the variation in the number of rules used and the called negative errors, the variation in the flow range, and the change in the membership function. It also shows the importance of defining the limits of linguistic labels and determining the appropriate stabilization time, which ultimately determines a dynamic behavior of slow response; thus, the greater the system’s input flow, the stabilization time will be shorter.
