Proposal of a mechanism of customization of metamodels Ecore

Abstract:

Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) is considered as the evolution of the software development process, using models to develop software rather than the typical programming languages. The models before the occurrence of MDE were considered only as "documentation" that after the implementation were discarded. A model is specified through a well-defined language with precise syntax and semantics. In MDE this syntax is defined through a metamodel. There are scenarios that require the modification of existing meta-models, such as those of KDM or DD of the OMG, which require the extension of certain elements according to norms described in natural language and not implemeted in tools. In order to solve this problem, this article proposes a mechanism that allows the establishment of personalization guidelines (rules) for Ecore metamodels through the implementation of an Eclipse plug-in.
