Proposed method of migration and coexistence of IPv6 IP/MPLS network for service provider

Abstract:

The objective of this research is to establish a proposal for a method of migration and coexistence of IPv6 over IP / MPLS network of a service provider, due to the incompatibility between IPv4 and IPv6 protocols. The different factors of hardware, software, routing protocols, current traffic, logical configuration structure of the provider and client were considered. From the analyzed results, a migration and coexistence method based on Tunneling 6VPE, configuration of IPv6 addressing in the BGP process and route distribution method was proposed, which improved the network service with an additional average of 9.13 Mbps.
