Prospective of the circular economy in the agri-food chain of fine organic aromatic cocoa in the province of manabi


Abstract:

The circular economy is an international practice with a marked interest in the ecology and the closed economic circle, where more companies need to optimize their resources from their processes and through the productive and commercial chain of which they are part. For this reason, the objective of this article is to identify opportunities for improvement of the circular economy in the agroalimentary chain of organic fine aroma cocoa in the province of Manabi. The research is of field, descriptive and empirical methods are used. It was developed from 2017 to 2019. A checklist was applied for the analysis of the circular economy in each stakeholder and in the chain in general, together with the variables that the instrument has. As a result, the chain was mapped and each individual link was analyzed, along with the identification of its opportunities for improvement ou practical value-methodological value of research. The importance of this is the design of a tool that diagnoses the object of study holistically, and that from the results define prospective of trend development in an area of Ecuador.
