Análisis del impacto turístico producido por el terremoto del año 2016 en el cantón Puerto López, provincia de Manabí. Periodo 2016-2017

Abstract:

The present study analyzed the tourist impact caused by the April 2016 earthquake in Puerto Lopez, Manabí. The accommodation, Agua Blanca community, and the tourist quay were analyzed. Secondary and Primary information coming from the demand of accommodation surveys was used. By means of coefficient of determination or R- squared value, it was concluded that the best way of establishing the recovery time is through comparative percentages month for month. The recovery also depended on the communication strategies that the public sector employed after the disaster. Finally, an approximate volume of the loss was calculated.
