Psychometric properties of the Ryff psychological well-being scale in colombian adolescents
Abstract:
We present the psychometric properties of the Ryff Psychological Wellbeing Scale adapted by Dierendonck (2004), translated into Spanish by Díaz et al. (2006) in its versions of 39 and 29 items. The participants were 733 adolescents between 13 and 18 years old. Descriptive analysis of items and correlation with their respective scale was carried out, in addition, confirmatory factor analysis was carried out with maximum likelihood method and varimax rotation. The discriminant validity was analyzed by establishing correlations with measures of psychological distress and the reliability of the scale by calculating Cronbach's Alpha and Mc Donald's omega. The results show that the scale in its two versions is valid and reliable for use in Colombian adolescents.
