Pulmonary tuberculosis. Case presentation

Abstract:

Introduction: the emerge of the tuberculosis constitutes a threat for the world public health, in spite of the existence of effective treatments and the measures of promoted control for the World Health Organization. The observed reality in the last years is demonstrated by increase of the cases in admitted cases at hospital units. Objective: to present a case of pulmonary tuberculosis with mistakes in the treatment and diagnosis at the primary attention of health. Case presentation: recent case of an 18-years adolescent, with respiratory symptoms of 1 month of the correct weight evolution, fevers, loss, decadence, lack of appetite and it lived together with an active tubercular. The radiologic examination and spit BAAR confirmed the diagnosis. It establishes to him ant tubercular treatment according to the national program of control of the tuberculosis in Cuba and it is forward to the corresponding primary health care setting with an abstract of the clinical record to continue her treatment, follow-up and control, records the epidemiological history and control to the contacts. Conclusions: throughout the presented case it was demonstrated that the pulmonary tuberculosis, in spite of the technologic development, existing drugs, control's programs and effort of many people, the disease continues being a challenging.
