Quality Evaluation of a Spring Cloud Microservices Architecture Implementation
Abstract:
In the practice of software engineering, it is a challenge to design highly scalable efficient software architectures for the development of quality web applications. In this sense, several proposals have emerged, such as the microservice-oriented architecture and the Spring Cloud development tools that have several characteristics that aim to respond to these demands. For this reason, we base this research on the Design Science Research (DSR) approach to answer the question, Does the implementation of the Spring Cloud architecture work? The method used to answer this question consisted of designing and implementing a software artifact (Spring Cloud implementation) and then validating it using the quality assessment in use according to ISO/IEC 25022. The evaluation results showed that the Spring Cloud implementation reached an efficiency of 83.04%, the satisfaction of use 78.68% of the expected value, both equivalent to a satisfactory degree. Therefore, the study concludes that the Spring Cloud implementation works to develop reliable, efficient, functional, and user-friendly software.
