Quality of service management mechanism for wireless systems with dynamic spectrum access
Abstract:
Wireless communication systems are limited by the radio resources available, e.g. spectrum, transmit power, etc. Therefore, it turns important to define mechanisms that allows to use those resources efficiently to maintain the quality of service of the system. For this reason, this paper presents a quality of service management mechanism for wireless systems with dynamic spectrum access. A load balancing management mechanism is used together with the Simulated Annealing algorithm to demonstrate that an access method or group of them operating with a certain level of load balancing can maintain the channel capacity above the proposed threshold while minimizing the total operating cost of the system.
