Quality of the cultivation of corn in the province of santa elena: Yield, health and agroclimatic conditions


Abstract:

The objective of this research is to study the quality of corn cultivation in the province of Santa Elena, through performance, health and agroclimatic conditions. The methodology used was related to the construction of a bibliographic mesh based on the theoretical and empirical works consulted. The empirical analytical paradigm and the experimental method were used. The research was carried out in two planting seasons, the complete random block design was used, with 10 treatments, three repetitions and combined analyzes. The variables evaluated were the following: yield, ear length, number of rows per ear, number of grains per ear, weight of 100 grains, days to female flowering and days to male flowering, plant height at the beginning of the female flower and plant height at the beginning of the male flower. According to the results obtained, it was determined that the quality of the crop is defined by agricultural criteria from the characterization of the product in this case, the hybrids where they achieved the highest yields were in the first trial. It is concluded that the quality of the corn crop shows a performance strictly related to health and agroclimatic conditions.
