Quantification of tephra deposits from Tungurahua 2011-2013 eruption, Ecuador: implication on the evolution of a long-lasting eruption
Abstract:
Tephra weight is obtained after drying the sample at 40C and weighing it with a 0.01 g electronic scale. The weight is used to calculate the area density of the tephra deposit. Bulk density is obtained by dividing the area density by the tephra thickness.
