RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS AND ITS THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES

Abstract:

Among the chronic non-communicable diseases, rheumatoid arthritis stands out as an autoimmune disease with a compli-cated treatment that constitutes a health problem worldwide. Due to this disease, disability and mortality increase despite using multiple drugs to mitigate inflammation. This research aims to gather information on the therapeutics used for the management of this disease as well as its alternatives, providing reliable information by searching in databases such as: Google Scholar, Redalyc, Scopus and Latindex. The results were favorable since multiple pharmacological and non-pharma-cological therapies were found to improve the patient’s prognosis. Additionally, information was collected on the therapeutics used, where within the initial management, pharmacological and biological therapy is used. In contrast, management and electromagnetic therapies were found in the best therapeutic alternatives, while non-conventional and natural therapies had little scientific evidence.
