Raman spectroscopy as a tool for identification and valorisation assessment of critical raw materials: Graphite case
Abstract:
Graphite has been considered as a critical raw material by EU Commission and it is a key resource to meet the 'Green deal' and the sustainable mobility 2030 plan. The increase in electric vehicles, as well as the growing interest in the development of new methods of obtaining graphene, make graphite one of the strategic elements of the world economy in the coming years, being key in the energy transition and the objectives reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. This work describes the use of Raman spectroscopy as an effective quick graphite identification and quality determination tool to be used in carbonaceous complex samples.
