Receding horizon control of non-uniformly sampled data systems
Abstract:
In this paper, the general problem of control of complex systems where the discrete time signals are not synchronized is treated. A model based on blocks of input and output variables is first proposed. A cancellation controller is immediately suggested. This controller may be designed either to assign the system structure, defined by the controlled system matrix, or to follow a reference. Some refinements to avoid the drawbacks of cancellation controllers are proposed. First, a receding horizon is introduced. It works very easily with regularly sampled systems, requiring a periodic control for the general case. Second, a reference model is introduced in the input, smoothing the controlled system response. Finally, a pole assignment like controller is suggested. The approach is applicable to multivariable systems. A number of examples illustrate the approach.
