Recognition of the genera of thrips associated with weeds in a Guava Orchard, Baralt Municipality, Zulia, Venezuela


Abstract:

The guava crop presents a variety of phytosanitary problems that affect the quality and the production of fruit, including thrips. Is made a recognition and identification of them genres of trips present in them weed that is found in a garden of guava in the municipality Mara, Zulia, Venezuela. Insects were collected with nets or flowers, fruits and leaves of the weed samples were taken, these were placed in paper bags and they were taken to the laboratory where they were revised and collected the trips for subsequent installation and identification, likewise, the weeds were identified to species. We identified 10 genera of thrips, belonging to 3 families, 39 species of weeds were alternate hosts of these trips. This work is a contribution important to the knowledge of what weeds are host alternate of thrips phytophagous that can cause damage to the guava.
