Recuento y fórmula leucocitaria en personas de 23-42 años de la ciudad de Cuenca-Ecuador, 2009-2010

Abstract:

The present work had like objective to determine the values of counting and leukocyte formula in people from 23 to 42 years of age, regardless of sex, height and weight residing in the city of Cuenca in the two last years, with the aim of establishing reference chords to our reality. The study was conducted in 1,000 individuals selectec randomly in the 14 urban parishes in the city. The 64.7 % are women and 35.3 % are men, who were applied a survey to their health status, the background pathological personal and family. The examinations were carried out in the Clinical Laboratory of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, using the analyzer blood CELL DYN 3,700 of 21 parameters. The predominant age ranges from 23 - 26 years. The half size is in 160 cm and the weight in 63,4 kg. The average of white blood cells is of 6,872 +/- 43,3. The average of neutrophils is 53,7 +/- 0,89. The average of lymphocytes is of 33,5 +/- 0,160. The average of monocytes is of 7,2 +/- 0,048. The average of eosinophils is of 2,6 +/- 0,031. The average of basophils is of 0,8 +/- 0,008 We found a significant relationship between: white blood cells with age (p= 0,003), monocytes with age (p=0,033), neutrophils with sex (p=0,026), eosinophils with sex (p=0,026), monocytes with sex (p=0,000), monocytes with size (p=0,000). And there is not a significant relationship among the rest of the studied variables The end of the present investigative work came to the conclusion that the values obtained both in the ranges as in the averages do not vary significantly with the used as reference in our midst.
