Reference values of antinuclear antibodies in healthy people. Quito-Ecuador
Abstract:
Autoimmune diseases are rare disorders in the world. The determination of autoantibodies in the blood of the subjectswith clinical suspect of this illness allows an early diagnosis that help to prevent future complications. The antinuclear antibodies are highest in people with autoimmune disease but also can be presents in healthy people. A cross sectional study was conduced in 97 healthy blood donors, to establish reference values of antinuclear antibodies using indirect immunofluorescense (Hep2). The prevalence of expressivity was of 8.2%(IC 95% 2.7-13.6%). In all the cases an fine grain pattern was observed and of them 50% with titles 1: 40; 37.5% with 1: 20 tittles and the rest with tittles 1: 80. The most prevalent expressivity encountered was 1: 40. This value is similar at other reports. We conclude that this value must be used like cutoff to define the pathogenic expressivity for antinuclear antibodies.
