Reflections on naming from Saul Kripke's language comprehension

Abstract:

It is analyzed the naming problem threatened by several authors on language philosophy's framework. It is seek to give a response to the interchangeability possibility between names and descriptions raised by philosophers, the necessity of propositions in reference determination, and language conventions when giving names meanings; in addition, an analysis of sense and meaning of propositions is done and how, for some philosophers, the meaning is found only in the plot of the proposition, and not outside of it or in the name. For this, two problematizing questions are formulated: Are the names and descriptions interchangeable elements, or each has its specificity in language? And, do names have proper sense or do they require reference elements necessary for the attribution of meaning? The reflections guidelines are, mostly, taken from Saul Kripke's Naming and Necessity production.
