Relations between urban noise and vehicular traffic in the city of Guayaquil

Abstract:

The urban noise generated by vehicular traffic emphasizing the high flow was studied through the collection of noise and vehicular traffic information at ten points within the city of Guayaquil, distributed in five residential, commercial, hospital, educational and industrial areas. More than 18,000 noise data processed statistically with R were analyzed and analyzed to find noise-traffic correlations in an integral and by zones. Due to presenting a similar functional behavior / registers, for integrated residential and commercial zones, the NRE model was defined = 0.2418 × Vm + 79.94, proposing to sample in other sectors of the city to generalize / validate / redefine the equation . The model evidences behavior among vehicular noise-traffic for Guayaquil, contributing to sustainable territorial-acoustic development.
