Reliability assessment in photovoltaic nanogrids by means of Principal Components Analysis
Abstract:
The microgrid reliability assessment is gaining notorious attention as distributed generation systems are being increasingly installed. The conventional approach to perform this analysis is by means of the Monte Carlo method which may lead to long-lasting simulations when elaborated models are considered. To reduce the overall simulation time, this paper combines a detailed analytical microgrid modeling with the use of modern multivariate data processing tools such as Principal Components Analysis and artificial intelligence to rapidly and accurately forecast the power reliability indices of the system.
