Residue Method Evaluation for the Location of PSS with Sliding Mode Control and Fuzzy for Power Electromechanical Oscillation Damping Control
Abstract:
This paper presents a new approach to dampen low-frequency electromechanical oscillations by using the slider mode control included within the automatic voltage regulator (AVR). This together with the power system stabilizers (PSS) properly located through residue method, and parameterized employing Fuzzy logic. It allows achieving better damping of the oscillations of the system. These are characterized by the modal analysis of DIgSILENT PowerFactory® and the matrices are processed by MATLAB®. This process allowed to determine residue.These proposed joint controls allow analyze of electromechanical oscillation by performing several simulations on the 39 Bus New England power systems in modes inter-area and local are analyzed.
