Resiliencia y su relación con los vínculos afectivos en los familiares de personas diagnosticadas con cáncer en el Norte de Quito en el período 2022-2023


Abstract:

Life is a path of unexpected situations that we must, in one way or another, try to overcome to develop as human beings and self-realize in life, each of us has a situation in our lives that has made us choose between good and evil. Mental health as well as physical health is an aspiration for many people. Terminal illnesses, for example, are an expected situation of life and of every human being. Mentioning the word "cancer" is talking about a disease associated with death, which leads to having an alteration in the daily life of people, regardless of whether it is a family member or close person, either the process that was had or the type of diagnosis. No two cancers are the same and neither do people react in the same way situations, in fact, there are people who affect them and are limited to the adequate development of processes of overcoming and modification to understand life, the relationship of oneself and others. In the same way, resilience is mentioned in this research to be able to associate with the relationship with the other or with the environment. Also, the affective bonds that are built within the family and socially is an especially important factor for this process of overcoming and modification and that attachment is not a bond that is only built during childhood and adolescence, but in adulthood these affective bonds are also built. The general objectives of this research titling work are to establish the relationship between resilience and affective bonds in relatives of people with cancer at various stages of the disease. To this end, a qualitative descriptive and correlational research was conducted in which 10 families with a relative or close person diagnosed with cancer participated. Which was collected their experiences in relation to the disease, through a survey. Ethical criteria, family consent, as well as taking care of their identity with their anonymity were considered for research with families.
