Resilient smart cities: An approach of damaged cities by natural risks
Abstract:
This paper introduces a conceptual review of Smart Cities to present a novel concept denominated Resilient Smart Cities (RSC). In this work, we provide a brief literature for IoT from the point of view of Smart Cities and its components: network, standards, services and requirements and how this digital ecosystem could be affected by unforeseen events. On the other hand, this article shows an overview of how the technology infrastructure and services can be affected by natural risks and consider as a solution the development of RSC. Moreover, a new architecture which includes the fundamental services that need to be preserved and prioritized in a Smart City has been considered for building a Resilient Smart City. Finally, a discussion about challenges and opportunities for the development of Smart Cities are mentioned.
