Review of smart grid requirements and design standards for future Naval vessels

Abstract:

In this paper, the SMART grid concepts and technology that can be potentially applied to address key challenges in future Naval vessels are analyzed. The IEEE standards for designing various modules for naval vessels such as Integrated Power System (IPS) are discussed and proposed potential architecture for power management module in naval vessel IPS to supply SMART grid concepts.
