Risk Management in Primary and Secondary Level Educational Institutions in the municipality of Medellin

Abstract:

Risk management is an environmental problem that must be incorporated to Institutional Educational Plan (PEI) in educational institutions on primary and secondary levels in Medellin. The city's Education secretary's office and the Disaster Risk Management Administrative Department (DAGRD) strive to find the necessary articulations with institutions across the city in order to deploy such a management. This paper presents a quantitative analysis on risk management, allowing to evaluate contents, logistics, organization and expectations in those educational institutions. Existing information is gathered through several raising awareness events, and two samples are taken in order to comply with them.
