STUDIOS PSYCHOLOGICAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST MEN IN THE CANTON OF SANTO DOMINGO, ECUADOR


Abstract:

Domestic violence is a phenomenon present in all latitudes and threatens the stability and harmony of the family as the fundamental cell of society. It is generally assumed against women, however, it also occurs against men. The subject that occupies the present work focuses on this area, since it demands urgent actions aimed at creating awareness that the male sex is also a victim of violence and that due to certain factors it does not come to light, remaining in impunity. With the present work it is intended to determine the incidence of domestic violence against men, its psychological and sociological causes in the relationships of couples in the Santo Domingo canton, and to raise awareness about the negative effects of violence of women against men. A qualitative, quantitative design was obtained to analyze the phenomenon under study, with methods such as analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction to meet the stated objective. The results obtained leave no doubt that there is domestic violence against men in the Santo Domingo canton, most of whom are not reported for fear that they will not be believed or become the object of ridicule. The main aspect of the conclusions refers to the fact that men are also victims of psychological abuse in the Santo Domingo canton, a social phenomenon about which it is worth continuing to investigate from the legal point of view.
