SURGICAL PROCEDURE FOR GINGIVAL DEPIGMENTATION

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to describe a clinical case in which gingival depigmentation was performed using the epithelium removal technique with manual instrumentation and gingivoplasty. After a period of 2 years of postoperative control, no recurrence was observed. Gum pigmentations are frequent in our population, the etiology is diverse and most of the people feel aesthetic discomfort with the pigmentation, but they do not know the therapeutic possibilities for its treatment. It can be concluded that the surgical technique used was adequate in this case, because it was possible to remove the gingival pigmentation with excellent results and without repigmentation during the additional control period and the selected technique stands out for being easy to perform and economical for the patient.
