SUSCEPTIBILITY/RESISTANCE OF BACTERIA STRAINS ISOLATED FROM THE ENVIRONMENT, SURGICAL WOUNDS, VETERINARIANS AND SUPPORT STAFF: INFECTION IN THE VETERINARY HOSPITAL
Abstract:
The susceptibility of 275 bacteria strains collected from the environment of veterinary hospital, surgical wounds, veterinarians and support staff to seven antibiotics and chemoterapics tested by an agar diffusion technique according to the method of Kirby-bauer, Gentamicin and chloramphenicol were the most active drugs against the strains from five sites of contamination. Penicillin and ampicilin were ineffective against the genus of Enterobacteriaceae family.
