Saccharomyces cerevisiae on the productive parameters of saanen goats

Abstract:

Different studies attribute to Saccharomyces cerevisiae with positive results on the productive parameters of the animals; therefore the objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of the yeast on the production and content of total solids in the milk of the goats. The experiment was conducted by using a design completely randomized, using 24 purebred goats Saanen supplemented with S. cerevisiae in 3 treatments, T0 (st), T1 (10 g/goat/day), T2 (20 g/goat/day), including eight replicates per treatment, providing similar zootechnical management in all the experimental units. The results obtained indicate that supplementation with S. cerevisiae in the diet of goats during the dairy production stage, exerts positive effects by prolonging the lactation curve and increase significantly (P<0.05) the fat content in milk. In regard to protein content and body condition, in the present investigation no differences were statistically significant evidence (P>0.05); therefore it concludes that there is a greater level of inclusion (20 g) of the yeast in the diet, positive effects are obtained on the fat content and lactation period and protein content of dairy production.
