Safety aspects during construction steps in the design of concrete structures

Abstract:

The flexibility of a modem concrete structure design needs the use of different tools to guarantee safety. The safety must be guaranteed during lifetime and during the construction stage time. The flexibility needs an open mind in using new materials and new construction methods, which afen conflicts with the safety aspects of the structure. Today the engineer has the availability of using tools, minimising conflicts between new and old materials or new construction methods. lt will be practical tools in the near future by merging these tools into the common engineering design tools like the finite element method.
