Santalaceae endemic to Peru
Abstract:
The Santalaceae are represented in Peru by three genera and 11 species (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993; Ulloa Ulloa et al., 2004), all parasitic herbs and trees. Here we recognize five endemic species, all of them in the genus Quinchamalium. These endemic species are found in Subtropical Costal Desert and Mesoandean regions, between 280 and 3500 m elevation. None Santalaceae endemic have been recorded inside Peru's protected areas system.
