Saturation magnetostriction of amorphous tapes with λs> 0 andλs≈ 0 after relaxation by conventional and rapid dynamic current annealing
Abstract:
The saturation magnetostriction λs of amorphous FeSiB (2605-S2) with positive magnetostriction and CoFeMoSiB (6025-vac) with near zero-magnetostriction have been measured after conventional furnace annealing and rapid current annealing above the Curie temperature Tc using the Tsuya and the cylinder techniques in a high precision dilatometer. The λs values for the two annealing techniques are found to be equivalent, indicating equivalent structural relaxation and chemical order states. It was found that the freely solidified face (air side) of the commercial CoFeMoSiB tapes is fully crystalline and that its near zero λs value is an average for the crystalline and amorphous volume fractions.
