Scratch, technology used as a tool to improve logical and algorithmic reasoning skills in school-age children.


Abstract:

Currently, the advancement of technology in various areas of knowledge, motivates children to access the world of computers from an early age, in the educational field computer systems have gained a wide space as a teaching tool, because it is proven that the use of ICT at an early age, awakens interest and innovation of knowledge. The purpose of this research is the study of Scratch technology used as a learning tool, and its influence on the increase of logical and algorithmic reasoning skills. The methodology used in this research is experimental, descriptive and relational, the analysis and synthesis are applied to summarize the theories on which the research is based, the experimental model is based on the training given and therefore the results it causes in the logical performance of the students of the Educational Unit “Pablo Hamnibal Vela” of the City of Portoviejo (Ecuador), This training was carried out during two months of study and practical workshops in virtual mode, in order to improve their logical and algorithmic skills, and subsequently analyze the logical performance that the children acquire and evaluate the results.
