Sebastián Piñera en la plataforma de Microblogging Twitter entre 2019-2021
Abstract:
The study analyzes how public opinion built the online reputation of the president of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, through the tweets published on the microblogging platform Twitter with the hashtag trending topic liderazgo de Piñera. The study time is from April 2019 to April 2021, a period that includes the mobilizations, the plebiscite for a new constitution, the arrival and management of the COVID-19 pandemic and the immunization process. Through an automated extraction, 3.630 tweets were selected to determinate how crisis contexts affect the construction of online reputation, through a digital content analysis technique. It was found that public opinion in Twitter contributed to the construction of a bad digital reputation for Piñera due to dissatisfaction with his management, the rejection of his permanence in power and perceptions about an absent leader in times of crisis.
