Second residence tourism: Socio-cultural impact on sustainable development in southern Ecuador

Abstract:

Tourism has become a development strategy for the Latin American countries that, due to their characteristics, attract the attention of foreign visitors, being of interest for this research Ecuador. This study pretends to determine the impact of tourism on the population of southern of Ecuador, through an empirical study that shows the changes within of sustainable development. According to the results obtained it was possible to determine that the inhabitants of Vilcabamba perceive that tourism of second residence has generated an impact in the economic, social, environmental, social and cultural aspects.
