Abstract:

The Guayaquil Port is settled on the river opposite of Guayaquil city since the colonial era, served to the country's development in the 50th large barges moved along to the Guayas River. (Tobar, 2000). Presidential Decree No. 15 posted on April 10th of 1958 is created the Port Authority of Guayaquil (APG), in order to planning the logistics process of Guayaquil Port, and the Guayas´s Executive Committee Roads Authority had been responsible for the construction of a new Port near to Guayaquil. In February of 1963 was opened the Puerto Nuevo, on that time was considerate one of the major seaports in South America; and only it had a private dock for boats of less draft, and could not enter through the Guayas River to the city and had to stay at Puna Area. (Tobar 2001). The new era develop major ships structures built under international standards services, as well as ports, contribute to generate important revenues for national state, and Posorja due to geographically position will permit to be efficient in connection with routes for Panamax & Post-Panamax ships with high capacity to load more TEUs affecting directly to their internal mobilization cost. However, there are other factors such as insecurity, environmental pollution, etc. The principal objective of this study case and since Posorja is a natural harbor is to get a HUB port. It is granted to have large terminals and huge concourses areas for deposit, and have the ability to storage more numbers of containers in transit, good handling that allows you to work with competitive prices and have a large number of feeder lines, to make the decision to do transit point for their final destination.
