Secure push notification service based on MQTT protocol for mobile platforms

Abstract:

Push notification is conceptually an event-based mechanism where remote servers push events to smartphone client apps when these occur. The communication between the MQTT client and the remote server has been performed via TCP by default, causing certain level of uncertainty in the obtaining data, which is necessary to enhance an adequate configuration of the server with the aim of generating security in the transmission and integrity of the data. This paper present the secure MQTT services implement on android and iOS clients, developing a push notification service that can be used to solve the problem of instant pushing several messages on a company. It also details the different areas in which the MQTT protocol could be applied.
