Silage of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz ) with cowpeas (Vigna unguiculata) for pig alimentation
Abstract:
With an objective of obtaining conservation of the entire plant of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) mixed with grains of cowpeas (Vigna unguiculata) in the peaks of harvest using a simple fermentation process and with few resources using the technology of silage, evaluated the whole plant of cassava (roots, stem and leaves) for the fermentation process, like the use of an inoculants consistent in the product which is a mixture of yeast, lactic bacteria in the process of fermentation (BIOPRANAL). For this the investigation used 28 kg of cassava, with a composition of 43.43%(MS), 5.4%(PB) and 6.9% of (Cz). The treatment used in this investigation had the following different interactions. The whole plant of cassava with cowpeas at 20, 30, 40% in dry base, as well with and without using inoculants. The result obtained showed a higher behavior for the treatments of powdered cassava with cowpeas inoculated with the BIOPRANAL; reached a ph laver to 4.18; maintained and physical, chemical parameters and organoleptics of silage material for the period of 2 months, the time which was the length of the investigation; the% of (PB) in was increase with the part of cowpeas but maintained the relationship between nutrients according to the necessary requirements for the alimentation of the fattening of pigs, finally concluded that the treatment with integrated powdered cassava with cowpeas and inoculated with BIOPRANAL showed a higher nutrition value, organoleptic parameters and conservation of silage of cassava with cowpea.
