Simplified physical model for the temperature control of fluid mass flow in parabolic trough collectors; Modelo fisico simplificado para el control de temperatura del fluido de …
Abstract:
In concentrated solar thermal systems, depending on which are the thermal requirements of the process being fed, maintaining constant or within a range the fluid temperature at the outlet of the solar system can be crucial to guarantee the running of the whole plant. In solar systems with parabolic troughs (PTs), the fluid mass flow through the receptor pipe of the collector is the manipulated variable to achieve a constant temperature at the outlet. This paper presents a linear process model that relates the outlet fluid temperature not only with the fluid mass flow, but also with the inlet temperature, the radiation available and the ambient temperature. This model, with steady-state and dynamic terms, is useful to design automatic controllers for the process. (Author)
