Simulation and verification of coverage and electromagnetic compatibility of digital TV transmission service providers for the Quito city


Abstract:

This paper proposes the simulation and verification of coverage and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for the implementation of digital television transmitters in Quito city. To analyze and simulate uses SIRENET like electronic tool and compares the results obtained for the simulation with field tests conducted to digital television. The digital TV service provider in this work was ECTV. The purpose of this research is to identify the coverage area and determine the location of sectors which could be put relay stations, should it be required; this aims to ensure the transmission of television in digital form, according to the new standard adopted in Ecuador including Quito, (ISDB-Tb). Additionally, based on the study of electromagnetic compatibility, the effect on transmission / reception when transmission technology digital and analog simultaneously present is described.
