Simulation of a yagi uda antenna using optimization methods based on genetic algorithms

Abstract:

The article is about the optimization methods used in AG (genetic algorithms) for the design of antennas, with the aim of obtaining a yagi uda antenna with optical radiation parameters that can be detected by means of the 4nec2 simulation tool. Through this method, the physical dimensions of the design are adjusted to obtain a yagi uda antenna composed of elements of different lengths and not evenly spaced, in order to maximize the directivity of the design and meet the requirements regarding antenna impedances, width of main lobes and number of secondary lobe, front-back relationship. Finally, a comparative analysis of the antennas controlled by genetic algorithms with respect to the antennas controlled by the traditional method was executed, obtaining as a result that obviously the objective of improving the gain of the antennas by using AG.
