Simulink block-set for modeling distribution systems with solid state transformer

Abstract:

A Simulink® block that implements the average model of a Solid State Transformer (SST) is presented in this paper. This SST Block provides a black-box model for higher level modeling of distribution systems with SST’s in Matlab®/Simulink®. The selected three stage configuration for the model allows the implementation of reactive power support to grid and input/output over current protection as well as provides a low voltage DC link for distributed generation and storage. The performance of the controls is verified through simulations.
