Abstract:
In Ecuador the abandonment of short-term phenomenon affects a large proportion of the student population, the dropout is one aspect that is manifested in the system of Distance Education, is a phenomenon of collective character, in the which students who manage to enter the education system, leave the formal process without completing the academic year due to endogenous and exogenous causes the same system. The research contributes to implement, develop and evaluate sustainable mentoring pilot project for undergraduate students of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja in the sub-center Quito - San Rafael, in the perspective of promoting quality improvement processes academic counselors, and the emergence of a culture of support, which favors meaningful learning. This research innovation invites you to visit a mentoring project that breaks new ground for further progress and building better quality distance learning, providing students stimuli for the development of reflection, active attitude, autonomy, as well as strategies and resources for learning in university environments, paying attention to the indicators to verify the effectiveness of mentoring programs.
