Smart biomaterials used in dentistry

Abstract:

Technology and new discoveries in the scientific field have led us to a multi-diverse revolution focused on the improvement of dental materials to obtain greater biocompatibility capacity in the human organism as well as shorten working times, generating greater versatility of use for the clinical, reduce costs and even provide greater comfort to the patient, biomaterials have undergone an accelerated development which has been mediated by the development of new technologies and the discovery of new materials, these innovative materials have been proven to perform better than previously used, the materials that were previously used, managed to comply with the functionality, however, the new biomaterials have generated a great impact on the treatments since they also allow us to meet the expectations of both the clinician and the patient, due to the fact that at the beginning were materials which it´s only functionality was to replace tissues with biomaterials that have the ability to activate a biological response in the body and its important characteristics allow to avoid a proliferation of bacterial communities in the organ or tissue to be treated since the use of antibiotics is not always most adequate because it can generate bacterial resistance and would help to cope with another frequent problem that clinical practice faces.
